Site record books create a paper trail that shows your safety management system is being followed in practice, not just on paper. During audits, investigations, or legal proceedings, documented records are your evidence that inspections were carried out, hazards were identified, and corrective actions were taken. Gaps in your records can create serious problems, even if the work was done correctly. Consistent use of site record books is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your organisation.

Retention requirements vary depending on the type of record and the jurisdiction. Under most Australian WHS legislation, records related to incidents, hazardous work, and plant inspections must be kept for a minimum period, often five to seven years. Some records, such as those related to asbestos or other long-latency hazards, must be kept for much longer. Check your obligations with your safety advisor or the relevant regulator, and make sure your archiving system supports easy retrieval.

Custom books reduce the need for workers to adapt generic forms to your requirements and make it easier to maintain consistent records across your business. They also present better during audits and client reviews.

We supply a range of site record books designed for construction and civil environments. This includes plant inspection registers, scaffold inspection records, electrical equipment testing logs, visitor and contractor sign in books, daily site diary books, concrete pour records, and defect registers. If you have a specific record keeping requirement that we do not have in our standard range, we can produce a custom format to suit.
