Frequently Asked Questions.
What is the size of an A4 flyer?
An A4 flyer measures 210 x 297mm. It is the standard paper size most people are familiar with, which works in your favour when distributing to a general audience, the format feels immediately familiar and easy to read. The dimensions give you enough room to include imagery, a headline, body copy and a call to action without the design feeling cramped. It is one of the most versatile sizes in the flyer range and a reliable starting point for most print marketing campaigns.
What paper stock works best for letterbox drops?
For high volume letterbox drops, 115gsm or 130gsm gloss art is a cost effective choice. It prints well in full colour and is light enough to keep postage or distribution costs manageable across large quantities. The gloss coating gives colours a clean, vibrant finish that holds up well even on lighter stock. If your letterbox drop is part of a premium campaign or you want the piece to feel more substantial in the hand, 150gsm is a step up that still suits distribution well without adding significant cost.
Can I get a laminated finish on A4 flyers?
Yes. Gloss and matte laminate finishes are both available. A laminated finish gives the flyer a more polished look and adds a layer of durability that makes a noticeable difference to how the piece feels. Gloss laminate enhances colour vibrancy and gives a bright, sharp finish, which suits bold designs and photography heavy layouts. Matte laminate gives a softer, more refined look and reduces glare, which can work well for professional services or more understated brand aesthetics. Both options are particularly useful for flyers left on counters, handed out at events or used repeatedly as reference material.
What file format should I use for my artwork?
A print ready PDF is preferred. Set your file to CMYK colour mode at 300dpi with a 3mm bleed on all edges. The bleed ensures that when the flyer is trimmed, there are no unwanted white edges along the border. Keep all text and logos at least 5mm inside the trim line to avoid anything being cut off during finishing. If your artwork includes fonts, make sure they are embedded or outlined before exporting. If you are unsure whether your file is set up correctly, visit our print resources page or get in touch with the team before submitting and we will be happy to check it over.
